Injectable bioactive acrylic formulationsnfor application in minimally invasive surgery.n n n The object of this invention is the development of acrylic formulations bearing a bioactive component, bioactive glasses or silica nanoparticles with different sizes and morphologies such as aerosil, and an anti-inflammatory drug carrying phosphate groups, which are injectable and curing " in situ ". These types of formulations are designed for application in percutaneous vertebroplasties, bone defects produced after recession of tumors or hypertrophy, and biomechanical stabilization in osteoporosis cases with bone loss. Currently the formulations used for this application are commercial formulations of acrylic bone cements that do not have the characteristics of adequate fluidity and radiopacity. |
