titleOfInvention | NEW INHIBITOR PEPTIDE OF THE NA + / H + EXCHANGER (PINHE), AND ITS APPLICATIONS. |
abstract | New peptide exchanger inhibitornNa + / H + (PINHE), and its applications.n n n The present invention describes a peptide (PINHE)nconsisting of 28 amino acids obtained by fractionation andnpurification of the culture supernatant of Haloferax gibbonsiinAlicante SPH7. PINHE acts as a natural physiological inhibitornof the Na + / H + exchanger in eukaryotes. It is active innwide ranges of salt concentrations, temperature and pH,nTrypsin resistant and pronase sensitive. Of its reversible actionnon the Na + / H + exchanger derives: (1) its use fornthe treatment or prophylaxis of diseases such as diseasesncardiovascular, renal, cerebral, metabolic, processesnproliferative pathologies, hyperproduction of hydrochloric acidnetc., (2) in other diseases or pathologies that occur withnischemia and post-ischemic reperfusion injuryndue to NHE hyperactivity as ischemia due to alterationsnprimary or secondary vascular in various tissues, bynpost-infarction reperfusion, by organ transplantationnor tissues, etc. Also as a contraceptive (in male mammals),nantibiotic or immunoregulatory agent, and in plants as a modulatornof saline stress |
