titleOfInvention METHOD FOR THE PRODUCTION OF A MATERIAL DESIGNED TO BE SINTERED IN A NUCLEAR FUEL BASED ELEMENT OF OXIDE.
abstract Method for the production of an oxide-based nuclear fuel element, in which the oxide-based nuclear fuel is mixed with Cr2O3 and sintered in a solid body, in which Cr is added to the oxide-based nuclear fuel in a portion of 50 ppm and <1,000 ppm with respect to the amount of oxide-based nuclear fuel, and in which at least one additional metal oxide is added, said metal having a substantially smaller neutron absorption cross-section than Cr, in an amount such that it will contribute significantly to an effect of enlarging the chromium oxide grain in nuclear fuel in sintering.
