The new compound of general formula (II), wherenR is methyl, phenyl or 4-methylphenyl, is obtained bynsulfonic acid chloride reaction of formulanCl-SO_ {2} -R with the correspondingnalcohol in an inert solvent. By reaction of (II) withnammonia replaces the sulfonate groupn(-OSO2 -R) by the ammonium groupn(-NH_3 +). From the reaction medium they can be isolatednPharmaceutically acceptable amlodipine sulfonates (e.g.nmesylate, besylate, tosylate) without the need to isolate previouslynthe amlodipine, which entails important advantages.
