Cyclic depsypeptide as agentnChemotherapeutic cancer.n n n Serratamolide, also called the [(3R) -3-hydroxidecanoyl-L-seryl- (3R) -3-hydroxidecanoyl-L-seryl] cycle, is a cyclic depsypeptide isolated from bacteria cultures of the Serratia marcescens species. Serratamolide decreases the viability of several cancer cells (leukemias, myelomas, carcinomas, etc.) and induces apoptosis in them, with virtually no effect on non-cancerous cells. This makes serratamolide, and its pharmaceutically acceptable addition salts and / or solvates, useful as an anticancer chemotherapeutic agent, particularly against leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, carcinoma, melanoma and sarcoma. |
