abstract The process provides the manufacture of a support structure (2) of the flywheel (1), the structure having a metal core (5) and an outer coating layer (6) of polymeric material; for each part (4) of the structure (2) to be covered with a valuable material (for example, pink), two curved half-shells (11, 12) of composite material comprising several layers are formed in such a way and size to raise, facing each other, on opposite sides, on the corresponding part (4) of the structure (2), to define an essentially tubular and continuous housing (13); the part (4) of the structure (2) is wound on the outer lining layer (6), with at least one layer (8) of fabric (10) impregnated with a polymer resin and to which two half-shells (11, 12) apply; in a heated mold, it ensures the adhesion of the half shells (11, 12) to each other and to the structure (2). Each part (4) of the structure also has two circumferential grooves, diametrically opposed (7), formed in the outer coating layer (6) to allow thermal expansion, without tensioning the semiconchas (11, 12) of the polymeric material of which it is formed the outer coating layer (6).
