PROCEDURE FOR THE PREPARATION OF SALTS CALCICAS OF FATTY ACIDS FOR GLYCERIDES ELEVATED IN OIL CONTENTS. |
abstract |
A process for the preparation of calcium salts of fatty acids comprising; (a) providing a fatty acid raw material having a glyceride content of about 30% to about 60% by weight; (b) adding to said raw material from about 2 to about 3 equivalents of calcium oxide in relation to said raw material, so that a reactive mixture is formed; and (c) adding to said reactive mixture from about 2 to about 5 equivalents of water in relation to said calcium oxide so that said calcium oxide hydrates and neutralizes said fatty acids to form calcium salts. |
