THE PRESENT INVENTION IS RELATED TO A CARBOXYLIC ACID DERIVATIVE {AL}-SUBSTITUTED, OPTICALLY ACTIVE, REPRESENTED BY THE GENERAL FORMULA (I): (WHERE R {SUB, 1} IS A HYDROXYL GROUP, R {SUB, 2} IS A METHYL GROUP OR A CHLORINE ATOM; R {SUB, 3} IS A HYDROGEN ATOM OR AN ALKYL GROUP WITH 1-6 CARBON ATOMS; N IS AN INTEGER OF VALUE 1 OR 2; AND * REPRESENTS AN ASYMMETRICAL CARBON ATOM, ON THE CONDITION THAT R {SUB, 2} IS AN ATOME OF CHLORINE, WHEN R {SUB, 1} IS A HYDROXYL GROUP; AND A METHOD OF PRODUCTION OF THE SUBSTITUTED CARBOXYLIC ACID {AL}, REPRESENTED BY THE GENERAL FORMULA (I) AND ANTI-PRUNING OF THE SAME, USING A CROP, CELLS OR MATERIAL FROM CELLS, OF A MICROORGANISM THAT HAS THE CAPACITY TO ASYMETRICALLY HYDROLYZE THE LINKS PROVIDED BY THOSE OPTIMALLY ACTIVE AND THE FOREGOING , ARE USEFUL AS RAW MATERIAL FOR SEVERAL LIQUID CRYSTALS AND AS SYNTHETIC INTERMEDIARIES S FOR SEVERAL OPTICALLY ACTIVE MEDICINES OR AGRICULTURAL CHEMICALS. |
