titleOfInvention OPTICAL SENSOR FOR DETERGENTS.
abstract Optical sensor for detergents. Optical device capable of determining, continuously and in situ, the concentration of detergents, surfactants or surfactants ("analytes") contained in a liquid sample. This device uses as sensitive material certain luminescent metal-organic complexes [such as, for example, bis (1,10-phenanthroline- (4,7-di (phenylsulfonate)) (5-octadecanamide-1,10-phenanthroline) ruthenium (II) disodium], whose intensity, lifetime (ie the inverse of the constant velocity) and / or anisotropy (polarization) of the emission of visible light increase in the presence of increasing concentrations of said analytes present in said sample. The adaptation of said optical sensor device to the monitoring of detergents in aqueous medium by means of the use of a fiber optic system combined with the immobilization of said luminescent compounds in a suitable polymer matrix. The sensitivity of said device to different detergents (canon unique, anionic and neutral) is a function of the structure of the luminescent indicator used, its immobilization procedure and the nature of the sample and the analyte (s).
