It comprises (i) oily vehicle excipients between 50 and 70%, (ii) gelling agents between 1 and 4%, and (iii) iron methionate between 30 and 80% so that the composition presents between 50 and 100 mg of Fe/ ml and a viscosity between 500 and 1,500 cps. It also comprises (iv) preservatives between 0.2 and 0.6%, and (v) aromas between 0.3 and 0.50%. The process comprises: adding oily excipients (i) in a suitable reactor; adding under stirring gelling agents (ii); heat until complete melting of the previous mass, stirring slowly; allow to cool until the formation of a transparent gel; at room temperature, add iron methionate under strong stirring until the product is homogeneous; pass through a refiner until obtaining an appropriate texture.
