abstract ARTIFICIAL PROCEDURE TO INDUCE BETA VULGARIS SACC IN THE PLANT. (SUGAR BEET), PROTEINS RELATED TO PATHOGENESIS. A PROCEDURE IS DESCRIBED TO ARTIFICIALLY INDUCE THE APPEARANCE, AMONG OTHERS, OF GLUCANASE AND CHITINOUS ENZYMATIC ACTIVITIES IN THE LEAVES OF PLANTS, IN PARTICULAR THAT OF SUGAR BEET (BETA VULGARIS), CONSISTING OF THE TOPICAL APPLICATION BY SPRAYING OF A SOLUTION IN WATER OF 5 MM OF HYDROGEN PEROXIDE, 5 MM OF SALICYLIC ACID, 4 MM OF 3-AMINO-1,2,4-TRIAZOLE OR COMPOUNDS THAT PRODUCE SAID PEROXIDE AS A CONSEQUENCE OF THEIR DEGRADATION. THE MOST IMMEDIATE APPLICATION OF THE PROCEDURE IS TO STRENGTHEN THE NATURAL RESISTANCE OF THE TREATED PLANT, IN PARTICULAR THAT OF BEETROOT (BETA VULGARIS), TO FUNGAL AND VIRAL PATHOGENS AND THUS PREVENT INFECTION OF THE PLANT CROPS BY SUCH AGENTS TREATED.
