abstract |
THIS INVENTION REFERS TO A SUPPORTED CATALYST COMPOSITION USEFUL IN THE POLYMERIZATION OF OLEFINS AND A METHOD FOR ITS PRODUCTION. THE CATALYST IS FIRST FORMED BY REACTIONING A TRIALKYLALUMINUM COMPOUND WITH A TRANSITIONAL METAL METHENE, AND THE RESULTING MATERIAL IS CONTACTED WITH THE DEHYDRATED SUPPORT MATERIAL TO FORM A SOLID PRODUCT OF MORE THAN 20 GROSS OF TRANSITION. THE RESULTING SUPPORTED CATALYST HAS A LEVEL OF ACTIVITY COMPARABLE TO THAT OF SUPPORTED CATALYSTS MADE CONVENTIONALLY CARRIED OUT IN LOADS OF ACTIVE METAL THAT ARE REDUCED FROM THE LOADS USED IN THE METALOCENO-ALUMOXOS-ALUMOXAN CATALYZERS PREFERABLY 50%. THE INVENTION IS PARTICULARLY REFERRED TO THE USE OF DEHYDRATED SILICE GEL CONTAINING 6 TO 20 PERCENT BY WEIGHT OF ABSORBED WATER AS THE CATALYSTING SUPPORT MATERIAL. |
