NOW A POLYMERIC BED HAS BEEN DEVELOPED TO ACT AS SUPPORT FOR OTHER ENTITIES PROVIDED WITH A MEDIUM VOLUME DIAMETER OF UP TO 250 MICRONS AND PROVIDED WITH A POROUS SURFACE THAT FORM AT LEAST THE SURFACE AREA. AT LEAST A THIRD PART OF THE TOTAL POROUS AREA OF PORES PROVIDED WITH A SIZE GREATER THAN 0.4 MICRONS IS PROVIDED. A METHOD FOR THE MANUFACTURE OF SUCH POLYMERIC BEDS IS EXPOSED USING A WATER EMULSION IN OIL IN WATER TECHNIQUE IN WHICH THE AMOUNT OF WATER USED IN THE PREPARATION OF THE LIQUID PHASE WILL BE NO MORE THAN 125 PARTS OF ITS WEIGHT BY 265 PARTS OF ITS WEIGHT OF THE MIXTURE OF THE POLYESTER RESIN AND THE MONOMER USED. POROUS BEDS PROVIDE AN EXCELLENT BASE FOR TRANSPORTING USEFUL ENZYMES, BACTERIA AND CATALYZING SPECIES IN A WIDE RANGE OF APPLICATIONS |
