IT HAS BEEN FOUND THAT WHEN THESE MOLECULES PRESENT A 2R, 3R STEREOCHEMISTRY AND SOME CERTAIN FUNCTIONAL GROUPS (HYDROXY, METHYLENDIOXY OR METOXY) IN THE 3", 4" AND 3 POSITIONS ''", 4''" OF THE AROMATIC RINGS HAVE A POWERFUL NEMATOSTATIC ACTION FOR PLANT-PARASITE NEMATODES. THE OBJECT OF THE INVENTION IS TO DEFINE SOME SUBSTANCES NOT PREVIOUSLY DESCRIBED FOR THE CONTROL OF PLANT PARASITIC NEMATODES. IT IS ALSO THE OBJECT OF THE INVENTION TO GIVE NEW USES TO DIBENZYL-BUTYROLACTONES TYPE LIGNANS WITH THE CHARACTERISTICS DEFINED ABOVE, AS NEMATOSTATIC AGENTS (THEY INHIBIT THE HATCHING OF SECOND STAGE JUVENILES OF CYST NEMATODES).
