THE PRESENT INVENTION REFERS TO DERIVATIVES OF ACTIVE THERAPEUTIC HYDROXAMIC ACIDS, TO PROCEDURES FOR THEIR PREPARATION, PHARMACEUTICAL COMPOSITIONS THAT CONTAIN THEM, AND TO THE USE OF SUCH COMPOUNDS IN MEDICINE, WHICH IS A6 - I: R2: -A- WHERE A HYDROCARBON DIVALENT, SATURATED OR NOT SATURATED, LINEAR OR BRANCHED REPRESENTS; - R3 IS A GROUP R7- (BN) -, WHERE N IS 0 O 1, B IS A DIVALENT HYDROCARBON CHAIN SATURATED OR NOT SATURATED, LINEAR OR BRANCHED; - R4 IS HYDROGEN OR METHYL; - R5 IS HYDROGEN, OR AN ALKYL OR AMINO GROUP - OR R3 AND R5, TAKEN TOGETHER, REPRESENT A DIVALENT HYDROCARBON CHAIN; THESE COMPOUNDS INHIBIT THE ACTION OF METALOPROTEINASES AND ARE USEFUL FOR THE TREATMENT OR PROPHYLAXIS OF STATES THAT CAUSE THE DISINTEGRATION OF TISSUES.
