abstract | Process for the preparation of colored cork mixtures for the coating of surfaces characterized in that they comprise a compressed mass of cork fragments essentially made up of around 80 to 90% of fragments of a selected size greater than that of those that pass through the 10 mesh screen intimately mixed with about 20-10% selected fragments smaller than those that pass through the approximately 20 mile sieve; a thin layer of coloring material disposed on the surface of only the minor fragments and practically surrounding at least all of these; and about 1 2 to 4 8% relative to the volume of the compressed cork of a binder that binds said fragments to each other under pressure and in intimate face-to-face contact. |
