VISCOUS EMULSIONS OF HYDROCARBONS IN WATER AND PROCEDURE FOR THEIR PRODUCTION. THE EMULSIONS ARE CHARACTERIZED BY A WATER CONTENT OF AT LEAST 15 PER 100 BY WEIGHT, A VISCOSITY NOT GREATER THAN 5000 CENTIPOISES AT 50GC AND A SIZE OF THE ACIDITE DROPLETS NOT GREATER THAN 300 MICRONS. THE PROCEDURE COMPRISES: (A) FORMING A FIRST MULSION OF HYDROCARBON IN WATER WITH A NATURAL VISCOUS HYDROCARBON MATERIAL; (B) DEGASSING SAID EMULSION AT 35GC AND AT A PRESSURE OF AT LEAST 1.4 KG/CMBS2 TO OBTAIN A DEGASSED EMULSION WITH A GAS CONTENT LESS THAN 0.135 MBS3; (C) ADJUSTING THE DIFFERENCE OF DENSITIES BETWEEN THE PHASES OF THE EMULSION TO BE GREATER THAN OR EQUAL TO 2 X 10BS-3 G/CMBS3; (D) BREAKING THE EMULSION IN A SEPARATOR AND RECOVERING THE SEPARATED NATURAL HYDROCARBON MATERIAL; (E) REEMULSIFIING SAID MATERIAL TO FORM A SECOND EMULSION OF HYDROCARBON IN STABLE WATER SUITABLE TO BE TRANSPORTED AND TRANSPORTED. THESE EMULSIONS, AMONG OTHER INDUSTRIAL APPLICATIONS, ARE USEFUL AS FUELS. |
