abstract The present invention relates to a process for the production of granules containing potassium, magnesium and sulfate, comprising the granulation of a salt mixture of polyhalite and potassium chloride and other components. The invention also relates to the potassium chloride granules obtainable by the process and their use as fertilizers or for the production of fertilizer compositions. The process comprises granulating a salt mixture containing a) 80 to 99.9% by weight of a mixture of finely divided polyhalite with finely divided potassium chloride, the mass ratio of finely divided polyhalite to finely divided potassium chloride being in the range from 1:3 to 3:1, specifically in the range from 1:2 to 1, 5 : 1 lies, b) 0.05 to 1.5% by weight, in particular 0.1 to 1.2% by weight, especially 0.15 to 1.1% by weight, sodium carbonate, hereinafter compound A, c) optionally 0.05 to 1.2% by weight, in particular 0.2 to 0.7% by weight, especially 0.25 to 0.5% by weight, of at least one compound B from the group of alkali metal orthophosphates , alkali metal metaphosphates, alkali metal polyphosphates, dialkali metal hydrogen phosphates, alkali metal dihydrogen phosphates, alkali metal orthosilicates and alkali metal metasilicates and mixtures thereof, where the percentages by weight relate to the total weight of the components of the salt mixture other than unbound water and, in the case of compound A, are calculated as Na 2 CO 3 .
