The present invention relates to a transformed cell of bacteria of the genus Bacillus, more particularly B. subtilis, which produces hyaluronic acid, the cell comprising in its chromosome a fusion of heterologous hasA gene from S. equisimilis with tuaD gene of B. subtilis under control of the hybrid tandem promoter PrpsF-gsiB, and optionally gtaB gene under control of the hybrid tandem promoter PrpsF-gsiB and/or gcaD-prs operon under control of the hybrid tandem promoter PrpsF-gsiB. The present invention also relates to a method for producing hyaluronic acid by said transformed cell. |
