abstract | The present invention relates to a composition for preventing, improving, or treating a neurological disorder or mental disorder, comprising vesicles derived from Lactobacillus paracasei as an active ingredient. The present inventors confirmed that when Lactobacillus paracasei-derived vesicles were administered to a transgenic animal model of neurological disorder, abnormalities in brain-nerve function are effectively suppressed, and also confirmed that when Lactobacillus paracasei-derived vesicles were administered to an animal model of mental disorder due to mental stress, the abnormalities in mental function due to stress and the accompanying behavioral disorders were effectively suppressed, so that the Lactobacillus paracasei-derived vesicles according to the present invention can be usefully used for the development of a pharmaceutical or health functional food for preventing a neurological disorder or mental disorder, improving symptoms thereof, or treating the neurological disorder or mental disorder, and the like. |
