abstract The invention relates to a stent for transluminal implantation into hollow organs, in particular into blood vessels, ureters, oesophagi, colon, duodenum or bile ducts, comprising a substantially tubular body which extends in an axial direction and can be changed from a compressed state wtih a first cross-sectional diameter to an expanded state with an enlarged second cross-sectional diameter. The stent comprises a plurality of cells which are defined by web-like edge elements formed by the tubular body, the edge elements comprising at least one support strut running annularly about the axial direction. The stent is characterised in that the support strut has at least one V-shaped support portion which comprises a web angle from 90° to 150° when the stent has the second cross-sectional diameter.
