The invention relates to a storage battery module (1) for receiving and electrically interconnecting a plurality of cylindrical storage battery cells (2), comprising a housing (4) having a first and a second housing half (4a, 4b), which are opposite one another and between which the storage battery cells (2) can be arranged in at least two rows (6) of separated receiving places (8) in standing position, wherein each receiving place (8) is assigned an electrically conductive contact portion (10a, 10b), by means of which an associated electrode of a storage battery cell (2a, 2b) can be contacted. Said storage battery module is characterized in that each housing half (4a, 4b) has a planar housing portion (12), which runs in a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axes of the storage battery cells (2) and in which at least one strip-shaped insert (14) made of an electrically conductive elastic material is received, which insert runs in the longitudinal direction (16) of the rows (6) over the length of a row (6) and in the lateral direction (18) over at least two rows (6) of receiving places (8) and in which insert the electrically conductive contact portions (10a, 10b) are each formed by the punching and form-bending of at least two contact tongues arranged next to one another.
