abstract | The portable device for the automatic preparation of MALDI-TOF samples consists of a closed container (11) in which a sample container (15) is inserted. This sample container (15) contains a molecule (16), the amount of which is to be measured metrologically SI traceable. This molecule is separated from the other substances of the sample in an interference separator (30) and a liquid chromatography column (17) and then prepared with a MALDI-TOF matrix solution (18) in a mixing instrument (19) to a mixture (20) suitable for MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry. Finally, the molecule-matrix mixture is deposited on a sample plate (23) intended for MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry by a calibrated micropipette (21) as a small droplet (22) with an exactly known volume in the range of a few microliters. |
