titleOfInvention Bioactive composition for killing cells
abstract The invention relates to a bioactive composition for killing cells, which comprises at least a first and a second half-element, the half-elements being in electrically conductive contact with one another at least with their respective surfaces in such a way that short-circuit elements arise in the presence of water and oxygen. According to the invention, the first half-element comprises at least one transition metal element which has several oxidation stages and, via catalytically active centers, allows the oxidation stages to be changed, so that oxygen is reduced on the first half-element and active oxygen species are formed, and the second half-element comprising at least one electrically conductive silver semiconductor, which absorbs electrons given off by cells or organic matter. By means of particles coated with the composition according to the invention, E. coli bacteria, for example, can be effectively and reliably killed in both a ruthenium oxide / silver chloride variant (ac) and a ruthenium oxide / silver sulfide variant (df).
