abstract | The present invention relates to a method for producing a thermoplastic polymer by reacting at least components (i) to (ii): a polyisocyanate composition comprising at least one diisocyanate (i); an epoxide composition comprising at least one diepoxide (ii); in the presence of a catalyst composition (iii); wherein the epoxide composition (ii) and the catalyst composition (iii) are introduced as a mixture at a temperature in a first temperature range (T1) (a); while maintaining a temperature in the first temperature range (T1), at least the polyisocyanate composition (i) is added proportionately (b); the temperature is increased to a temperature within a final temperature range (Tf); and in the final temperature range the remaining polyisocyanate composition (i) is added (d). The invention further relates to a thermoplastic polymer that is or can be obtained using this method, and to the use of the thermoplastic polymer for producing a fibre or a moulded body by means of injection moulding, calendering, powder sintering, laser sintering, melt pressing or extrusion; or as a modifier for thermoplastic material. |
