abstract |
There is provided a mesh element (10) for an atomiser assembly (50). The mesh element (10) comprises a first layer (12) defining at least one channel (14), the at least one channel (14) comprising a minimum cross-sectional area. The mesh element (10) also comprises a second layer (16) overlying the first layer (12), wherein the second layer (16) defines at least one nozzle (18) comprising a maximum cross-sectional area. The second layer (16) comprises an inner surface (24) facing the first layer (12) and an outer surface (26) facing away from the first layer (12). The at least one nozzle (18) overlies the at least one channel (14) and the maximum cross- sectional area of the at least one nozzle (18) is smaller than the minimum cross-sectional area of the at least one channel (14). The outer surface (26) of the second layer (16) defines an annular portion (40) extending around the at least one nozzle (18) and having a rounded shape. A thickness of the second layer (16) at each annular portion (40) is larger than a thickness of the second layer (16) between adjacent annular portions (40). |
