abstract The present invention relates to a pesticidal composition comprises: a.) a carrier oil component selected from the group consisting of linseed oil, oils extracted or distilled from chia (Salvia hispanica), kiwifruit seeds (Actinidia chinensis), perilla (Perilla frutescens), lingonberry (Vaccinium vitis-idaea), camelina (Camelina sativa), purslane (Portulaca oleracea), durian fruit (Durio graveolens), Karuka, sea buckthorn, walnut, rapeseed, sunflower, corn, soybean, sesame, poppy seed, safflower, olive, pecan, peanut, macadamia, grape seed, canola and hemp seed, and mixtures of the aforementioned oils, b.) an aqueous solution of hydrogencarbonate, and c.) a plant essential oil component selected from the group consisting of oils extracted or distilled from orange peel, mandarin peel, lemon, grapefruits, pomelos, limes, mint, spearmint (Mentha spicata), kuromoji, ginger grass, wintergreen (Gaultheria procumbens) (eastern teaberry) belonging to the genus Gaultheria, birch and black birch (Betulenta lenta) belonging to the genus Betula, Spiraea (meadowsweets), Polygalaceae, hemp seed, caraway, garden angelica (Angelica archangelica), lovage extracts, dill seed and mixtures thereof. The present invention further relates to the use of said composition for controlling insects from the order Orthoptera and to methods for controlling insects from the order Orthoptera. The present invention also relates to kits for an on-site preparation of a sprayable pesticidal composition and the use of said sprayable composition for controlling insects from the order Orthoptera.
