abstract The invention relates to an acquisition/distribution layer (ADL) for use in an absorbent hygiene article, comprising at least one nonwoven layer. It is in object of the invention to provide a biodegradable ADL with improved dimensional stability and liquid absorbency properties. To solve the stated problem, it is therefore proposed, that the at least one nonwoven layer is a cellulosic nonwoven layer, directly manufactured from lyocell spinning solution, forming a network of substantially endless regenerated cellulosic fibers.
