abstract |
The present invention relates to a coating composition. The coating composition comprises a polymer emulsion, silane functionalized fibers and a fluid medium. The silane functionalized fibers are present in an amount of from 0.05% by weight to 10% by weight of the coating composition. The polymeric emulsion is present in an amount of between 20% by weight and 60% by weight of the coating composition. The fluid medium is present in an amount of from 5% by weight to 40% by weight of the coating composition. The silane-functionalized fiber comprises at least one polymer bonded to at least one silane group. The coating composition according to the present invention has improved properties such as improved coverage when applied to a surface, as well as improved mechanical properties, stain resistance and the like, as compared to a coating composition. devoid of fibers. |
