abstract The invention relates to a flame retardant composition based on polyamide, containing as component A) 1 to 96% by weight of one or more thermoplastic polyamides; as component B) 2 to 25% by weight of a diorganylphosphinic acid salt of formula (I), wherein R 1 and R 2 are the same or different and denote linear C 1 -C 18 -alkyl, branched or cyclic, C 6 -C 18 -aryl, C 7 -C 18 -arylalkyl and / or C 7 -C 18 -arylalkyl; M denotes Mg, Ca, Al, Sb, Sn, Ge, Ti, Zn, Fe, Zr, Ce, Bi, Sr, Mn, Li, Na, K and / or a protonated nitrogenous base; m is 1 to 4; n is 1 to 4; as component C) 2 to 20% by weight of at least one other polymer component selected from the classes of thermoplastic polyesters and polyester elastomers; as component D) 0 to 20% by weight of a phosphorous acid salt of general formula (II), wherein M denotes Mg, Ca, Al, Sb, Sn, Ge, Ti, Zn, Fe, Zr Ce, Bi, Sr, Mn, Li, Na and / or K; as constituent E) 0 to 20% by weight of one or more condensation products of melamine and / or melamine transformation products with phosphoric acids and / or melamine cyanurate; as constituent F) 0 to 50% by weight filler and / or reinforcing material; as component G) 0 to 5% by weight of a compatibilizer promoter for polymeric constituents; as component H) 0 to 2% by weight of phosphite or phosphonite or corresponding mixtures; and as component I) 0 to 2% by weight of an ester or a salt of long-chain aliphatic carboxylic acids (fatty acids) which usually have chain lengths of C 14 to C 40 , the sum constituents always being equal to 100% by weight.
