abstract |
The present invention relates to catalysts according to formulae (I) and (II) for ring-opening metathesis polymerization (ROMP), where A1 stands for NR2, A2 for CR2R2' or NR2, A3 for N and C for a carbene carbon atom. The catalysts are particularly suited for ring-opening metathesis polymerization of dicyclopentadiene since they are distinguished by a favourable stability and latency so that they only react with the dicyclopentadiene monomers at high temperatures. Further aspects of the present invention relate to the use of corresponding catalysts for producing polymers by means of ring-opening metathesis polymerization and to methods for producing corresponding polymers, in which the polymerization is started by heating the reaction mixture. |
