Hydrogel compositions for the treatment of molluscum contagiosum |
abstract |
The invention relates to a topical pharmaceutical or veterinary composition in the form of a hydrogel comprising: a) a crosslinked polymer of acrylic acid in an amount of 1 to 4% by weight relative to the total weight of the composition; and b) a metal hydroxide chosen from sodium hydroxide and potassium hydroxide in an amount of 6 to 15% by weight relative to the total weight of the composition. The invention also relates to a device comprising said composition and the use of the topical composition in the treatment of a virus-induced lesion resulting from a viral infection. |
