Device for quantitative measurement of particle properties |
abstract |
Devices, systems and methods for quantitative measurements of colloidal properties using a depletion force sensor. An exemplary system of the invention may include a well, a mass, a sensor, and a processor. The well may contain a test fluid. The mass has a surface that can be immersed in the test fluid during operation. The sensor may include a sensing element that can be immersed in the test fluid during operation. The sensing element may comprise a sensor face separated from the surface of the mass by a gap. The sensor can measure a force on the sensing element relative to the mass. The processor can be coupled to the sensor and determine the properties of the test fluid based on the force. |
