abstract |
The invention relates to a frequency reference oscillator device and a method for providing a frequency reference signal. The oscillator device comprises a first oscillator comprising a first resonator having a first long-term stability and a first frequency / temperature reversal temperature, the first oscillator being able to provide a first frequency signal. In addition, the device comprises a second oscillator comprising a second resonator having a second long-term stability which is lower than the first long-term stability and a second frequency-to-temperature reversal temperature, the second oscillator being able to provide a second signal frequency. The invention also relates to a thermostatic control device for adjusting the temperature of the first resonator essentially to said first reversal temperature and the temperature of the second resonator substantially to said second reversal temperature, as well as a stability control circuit designed to use the first frequency signal to adjust the second oscillator to provide a stabilized, long-term temperature stabilized output frequency signal. |
