titleOfInvention |
Molecules having one hydrophobic group and two identical hydrophilic ionic groups and compositions thereof |
abstract |
The invention relates to a new class of compounds. The new compounds of the invention have a hydrophilic group and two identical hydrophilic ionic groups. The two hydrophilic groups of the described compounds contain or terminate with a cationic or anionic charge group. The invention also relates to a process for synthesizing the novel compounds described. The new compounds of the invention can be used as surfactants in an article, a product or a composition or for other purposes. The invention also relates to corrosion control compositions comprising dicationic or dianionic compounds and methods of use thereof in a corrosion control composition for reducing corrosion of a surface in a water-based system. The methods or compositions of the invention have been shown to be more effective than methods or compositions comprising single quaternary compounds commonly used to mitigate corrosion of a metal surface in water-based systems. |
