abstract |
This invention relates to a process for producing thermoplastic polymer particles comprising combining a first solution containing a polyetherimide, a polycarbonate, or a combination thereof and an organic solvent with an aqueous solution containing a surfactant, and stirring of the mixture obtained using a device that generates a shearing force operating at a preselected peripheral rotational speed to form an emulsion. The emulsion is heated to flush the organic solvent and obtain an aqueous polymer dispersion containing the thermoplastic polymer particles. |
