abstract The present invention relates to an NHSSP insulated neutral heat-sensitive serine protease of 25.6 to 31.2 kDa derived from the fungus Onygena corvina and its method of preparation. The new NHSSP is useful in many applications, particularly for use in detergent preparations, in molecular biology such as purification of nucleic acids such as DNA and RNA, protein sequencing and peptide mapping, in processing and manufacturing of food products, in the manufacture of a pharmaceutical composition for the debridement of wounds, and the treatment of wounds.
