abstract According to the invention, a rubber granulate obtained from recycled tires is subjected to an interconnected substitution process. The process uses a reactive component that interferes with the sulfur bonds. The resulting treated rubber has properties similar to those of the virgin composite rubber structure prior to being granulated, and is suitable for use in the manufacture of new tires, modified rubber articles and asphalt rubber for used in waterproofing and paving applications.
