Embodiments take advantage of the PCI-DSS validation of a back-end transaction processing system to prevent the payment application from meeting the PCI-DSS PCI compliance reporting requirements. When the payment application needs to collect sensitive data for a transaction, the payment application makes a request to the payment library, which, in turn, requests the main system to have a secure web page with fields for the user to enter the specific sensitive data to be collected and generally also including a public encryption key generated specifically for the secure web page. The payment library causes the secure web page to be rendered, allowing the user to enter the required information. Upon completion of such a data entry, the data entered through the secure web page is returned via the payment library to the back-end system for processing. The back-end system can decrypt the encrypted data using the private key associated with the public / private encryption key pair. |
