titleOfInvention Devices, systems, and methods for evaluating acuteness of deep vein thrombosis
abstract A method of evaluating deep vein thrombosis (DVT) caused by a blood clot formed in a deep vein of a patient. The method comprises receiving, at the level of a computing device in communication with an ultrasound imaging device, an ultrasound signal representative of an ultrasound echo reflected by the blood clot, the ultrasound echo being associated with an ultrasonic pulse transmitted by the ultrasound imaging device; determining, by the computing device, a sharpness of the blood clot based on an intensity of the ultrasonic signal; and outputting, on a display device in communication with the computing device, a graphical indication of the determined acuity. In some embodiments, the method further includes transmitting, via the ultrasonic imaging device, the ultrasonic pulse into the deep vein where the blood clot is positioned.
