titleOfInvention An apparatus for the abatement and conversion of atmospheric gaseous pollutants comprising a plasma/catalyst or a plasma/adsorbent coupled system
abstract The invention relates to an apparatus for the low-temperature reduction of atmospheric gaseous pollutants, such as nitrogen oxides (NO x ), volatile organic compounds (VOCs), NH 3 , CO 2 , CH 4 and odors, comprising an integrated plasma / catalyst coupled system, that is to say which constitutes a single phase of work, the plasma being a plasma at atmospheric pressure and the catalyst being heterogeneous. More particularly, the apparatus according to the present invention relates to the use of a reducing plasma and an adsorbent for the reduction of NO x and the use of an oxidizing plasma and a catalyst for the reduction of VOCs. The invention also relates to a process for the reduction of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) by means of an integrated plasma / catalyst coupled system. The invention also relates to a process for reducing and converting CO 2 into various types of chemical substances with a high economic interest, such as, for example, dimethyl ether, by means of an integrated plasma / catalyst coupled system.
