titleOfInvention | Apparatus and method for absolute quantification of biomarkers for solid tumor diagnosis |
abstract | The invention relates to a method for the quantitative analysis of a sample. The method comprises: (a) providing a singular marker representing one or more characteristics of the sample, the sample comprising a population of individual units of the marker; (b) measuring the marker using a transfer-of-molecules analysis, the quantization result constituting an absolute quantity of the population of individual unit markers in the sample, normalized by the volume of the sample or by the weight of the sample; and (c) obtaining an objective determination of said sample characteristics based on the quantization result of the marker. The invention also relates to a reference database and a method of using the reference database for diagnosing cancer in a patient. |
