titleOfInvention | System and method for improved identification of particles or cells |
abstract | The present invention relates to the field of microfluidic flow cytometry and more generally to microfluidic techniques for the analysis of fluids containing particles. It concerns improvements to such technologies in order to identify subsets of particles or cell subpopulations that differ in their properties, and, if necessary, separate said identified subpopulations of cells, by for example, sex of sperm cells, living cells versus dead cells, cancer cells versus healthy cells, subsets of viruses, bacteria or subsets of particles. The present invention also relates to the apparatus and method for detecting cells or particles based on complex AC impedance measurements between electrodes through the fluid stream containing such cells or particles. |
