Embodiments of the present invention provide methods of reducing an inflammatory immune response (e.g., inhibition of a Th1 response) and / or ameliorating a regulatory immune response (e.g. improvement of Treg (s)) in a mammal, said methods comprising administering to the mammal a GABAA receptor positive allosteric modulator (PAM) in an amount sufficient to reduce an inflammatory immune response and / or to promote an immune response regulating said mammal. In some embodiments, PAM is co-administered with a GABA receptor activating ligand (eg, GABA). |
