abstract |
The invention relates to an oil-in-water nanoemulsion composition having a continuous aqueous phase and dispersed oil droplets, the nanoemulsion comprising: (a) clobetasol; (b) one or more oily components; and (c) one or more surfactants; with one or more pharmaceutically acceptable excipients or carriers, wherein: the osmolality of the nanoemulsion is between 100 and 500 mOsm / kg; the average size of the droplets measured by dynamic light scattering is between 1 and 500 nm; the ratio by weight of the oily component to clobetasol is from 1: 1 to 200: 1; and the weight ratio of surfactant to clobetasol is from 2: 1 to 200: 1. Processes for preparing and using said composition as a medicament, and in the prophylaxis and / or treatment of inflammatory diseases or conditions are further described. |
