abstract |
The invention relates to the expression of a fusion protein in recombinant lactic acid bacteria using an expression construct comprising propeptides. Preferred embodiments of the propeptides include DTNSDIAKQD, DTTTDIAKQE and DTSADIANQE, which have a net negative charge of -2 to -3 at pH 7. Further, the subject specification discloses an expression construct encoding a fusion protein of prolyl endopeptidase and the propeptide, as well as recombinant lactic acid bacteria comprising such expression construct. Said recombinant lactic acid bacteria and fusion protein can be used in the treatment of a gut disease such as Celiac disease. |
