abstract The invention relates to a method for producing a glazed ceramic article, in which (a) a glaze material is applied to a non-dense-sintered substrate material and (b) the substrate material and the glaze material are subjected to a heat treatment in a temperature range that extends from a first temperature T1 to a second temperature T2, which is higher than the first temperature, to obtain the glazed article, wherein at temperature T1 the glaze material has a viscosity of more than 102.5 Pa ⋅s, more particularly more than 104.0 Pa ⋅ s, preferably more than 105.6 Pa ⋅ s and particularly preferably more than 107.0 Pa · s, and at temperature T2 has a viscosity of less than 109 Pa ⋅ s, more particularly less than 107 Pa ⋅ s and preferably less than 105.6 Pa ⋅ s. The invention also relates to the use of a glaze material to glaze a non-dense-sintered substrate material.
