For the diagnosis and / or treatment of inflammatory tissue conditions in a tissue adjacent to the implant (100; 300; 400), electromagnetic waves can be detected by means of the sensor system (104) of the implant (100; 300; 400) whose properties depend on the state of the environment of the implant (100; 300; 400), in particular of the tissue adjacent to the implant (100; 300; 400). Data supplied by the sensor system (104) are transmitted contactlessly to the receiver by means of the data transmission unit (107).
