The invention relates to an apparatus (100) for monitoring an object (102), wherein the apparatus (100) has: an infrared-emitting pulsed electromagnetic radiation source (116) designed to illuminate, using at least one infrared pulse, the object (102) to be monitored; and an infrared-sensitive image-capture device (72) designed to at least partially capture at least one image of the object (102) to be monitored while said object is being illuminated using the at least one infrared pulse. |
