The invention refers to a perfusion loop assembly for an ex vivo liver (100) perfusion comprising at least one pump (101) for providing a fluid flow that is divided into a hepatic artery branch (110) and a portal vein branch (120), at least one one gas exchanger (oxygenator 112) in the hepatic artery line, at least two ports (115, 125) for administering additives into the hepatic artery line and portal vein line, sensors for monitoring flow rate and pressure in the hepatic artery line, portal vein line and liver outlet line (140), valves (122, 141a) in the portal vein line and liver outlet line, a reservoir (150) for the perfusion fluid, a bypass (160) between the hepatic artery line and the portal vein line or a bypass between the hepatic artery line and the reservoir, and a dialysis machine (180) for adjusting the perfusion fluid composition. A method for ex vivo liver perfusion using the perfusion loop assembly is also described. |
